Image Essay: Kadambari Baxi

Rebuilding / Reconstruction, a visual essay combines onsite photos of "rebuilding" at Ground Zero in New York and online images of "reconstruction" in Afghanistan and Iraq. The images are reformatted as collaged pairings to emphasize globally dispersed yet, somewhat interconnected architectural activities. Large photos combine right side up and upside down images in a seamless singular format. The photos are accompanied by found images and news clips from websites and social media sites. The visual essay is displayed in a book format or as large linear strips.
